Some mornings start at 4 a.m. Mine did, every summer, for one month a year — riding shotgun on the milk route with my dad.

He'd hand me a chocolate milk and a donut before the sun came up, and I'd fall asleep before the first stop. By the time I woke up, it was almost noon and the route was nearly done. Afterward, he'd take me to the Elks pool and let me swim the rest of the day. I was ten. It's still my favorite memory.

That's the kind of man my dad was. He showed up before the sun did, worked like no one was watching, and made sure I felt loved, protected, and important the whole way through. He didn't owe me a single one of those mornings. He gave them anyway.

This is a dark roast, single-origin Brazilian, semi-washed for a clean, smooth cup with low acidity that won't fight you before your second sip. The flavor leans into chocolate and toasted hazelnut — rich, a little sweet, easy to drink black or with cream, and never bitter.
